JAKARTA (MKRI) — The General Election Commission (KPU) of West Lombok Regency did not receive a letter from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) DPD (regional representatives council) on March 1, 2024 regarding the implementation of the C.Results Plano vote recount. However, the West Lombok Regency KPU only received a letter regarding the implementation of the C.Plano results recount. This was stated by Idham Barkah as the legal counsel at the follow-up hearing of the 2024 legislative Election Results Dispute for DPR (House of Representatives), Provincial and Regency/City DPRD (Regional Legislative Council) on Wednesday (8/5/2024).
The second Hearing of Case No. 21-02-08-18/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 requested by Abubakar Abdullah as a PKS DPRD Candidate was presided over by panel 2—Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra and Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani.
Idham explained that the KPU could not implement the petition because it did not comply with the procedures, mechanisms and procedures and no suggestions for improvement, recommendations and decisions from the West Lombok Regency Bawaslu which has the authority to provide recommendations and/or decisions according to statutory regulations.
"That D-Form Witness Objection is filled in after the plenary recapitulation at the district level, so it cannot be followed up because it will become a note at the plenary recapitulation of NTB Provincial KPU as per the tiered recapitulation flow regulated in statutory regulations. So based on this argument, legally the Respondent has carried out the election process with the applicable laws and regulations," explained Idham.
