JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held a Preliminary Hearing on the 2024 Legislative election results dispute for Members of DPR (House of Representatives), DPD (Regional Representatives Council), and Provincial and Regency/City DPRD (Regional Legislative Council) on Friday (3/5/2024). The hearing of Case No.97-02-04-34/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 was presided over by panel 2—Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra and Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani in the Panel Courtroom.
Justinus Tampubolon as legal counsel for Mafa Uswanas, candidate number 2 for West Papua Province DPRD West Papua 4 from the Party of Functional Group (Golkar), revealed that there were inflated votes in 9 villages in the Pariwari District. The reason is, the KPU (Respondent) took votes from 52 TPS intended for the Golkar Party legislative candidate number 1, Amin Ngabalin. The additional votes obtained were taken from the Golkar Party, other legislative candidates, and other political parties. Specifically, Golkar Party received 51 votes, candidate number 3 received 151 votes, candidate number 4 received 16 votes, candidate number 5 received 15 votes, candidate number 6 received 2 votes, and other political parties received 153 votes.
"Based on this, the Petitioner requests that the Court issue a decision to annul the General Election Commission Decree No. 360 of 2024 on the certification of the 2024 legislative election results of the Presidential ticket, DPR (House of Representatives), DPD (Regional Representatives Council), and Provincial and Regency/City DPRD (Regional Legislative Council) announced nationally on March 20, 2024 filling in the vote acquisition for political parties and candidates of the West Papua Province DPRD West Papua 4. The correct vote results are as follows: Mafa Uswana obtained 2,335 votes, Amin Ngabalin getting 2,176 votes, and the Golkar Party got 333 votes," said Justinus.
