Turkey-Kılıc stated that the prosecutors should be independent and added: "democracy and secularism can not be spoken of in a place where a minority or majority is isolated from political involvement because of their beliefs."
The chairman of the constitutional court, Hasim Kılıc, criticized jurisdiction in his speech at the anniversary of foundation of the court. Kılıc mentioned the democratic inspection of the jurisdiction over the public and made an implicit warning on Ergenekon. Kılıc warned the ruling party about holding the majority; and warned the court about being legal and criticized the constitutional court. Kılıc reminded of the action to ban political parties. Kılıc said: "Superiority of law does not mean superiority of the prosecutor. Jurisdiction has to be impartial. Justice does not exist where impartiality does not exist. Democracy and secularism can not be spoken of in a place where a minority or majority is isolated from political involvement because of their beliefs." Implying Ergenekon, Kılıc said: "It should be known that attempts to save the country or the regime using illegal means will end in collapse of the state."
